Growing up in the Philippines, Reme Trick saw what it was like to go without and was amazed at what was available to the common person when she came to the United States in the late 1970s.
It taught her important lessons to never take anything for granted and to enjoy what you have.
She moved from Ohio to Murfreesboro to help her husband care for her elderly in-laws, but having always been self-employed she couldn’t just sit idle. She had to get out and meet new people in the community.
She did so by opening her new boutique, The Walk In Closet.
In a time that has been difficult for many consumers, Trick wanted to offer a place where people could bring their name-brand clothes for cash or consignment, but also find trendy and stylish looks for less.

The store will buy gently used name-brand clothing from stores such as Abercrombie and Fitch, Aeropostle,As for apparel retailers like Guess and cheap true religion who have built their companies on jeans, Hollister, Charlotte Russe and others. Clothes from other stores, such as Old Navy, will result in store credit. Currently high on the must-have list are Miss Me and True Religion jeans, as well as Polo Ralph Lauren items, all of which you can find at The Walk In Closet for less than offered at department stores.
“I will offer a price to buy the items out right, and if the customer does not like the price or thinks they can get another price, they can consign it,” Trick explains.
This works especially well with high-end gowns and purses.
